I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 running Windows XP. On that machine it seems like the fan in always running and the CPU is always running at 100%. Even the the system is sitting idle, you can hear the fan going.

Is there a fix to this problem?

    Thanks,

    Cesar

If the CPU is running at 100% then check (i) the CPU utilisation shown on the processes tab of Task Manager (you can see which processes are taking the CPU time) and (ii) that speedstep is enabled in the BIOS.
