I currently have an awesome Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 laptop that I have owned for about a month and a half. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2GHz cpu. How hard is this model to upgrade the CPU? I am eying both the P9600 and T9550 processors for my lappy (both run at 2.66GHz). Is it worth the price for the performance?

    Here are my specs:
    Toshiba A305
    Intel Core 2 T6400 2.0GHz
    3GB DDR2-800
    320GB SATA HDD 5400rpm
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP1 with all current updates

It is only worth the price if you can afford it without wincing and you really need it. So if it's just for slightly better performance for general home or office use, it probably isn't. In addition, both these CPUs are 1066 Mhz bus speed, so not sure fit they're compatible with your MOBO and/or BIOS.

Really not worth the trouble, what do you need this extra CPU power for?

I've decided to scrap the CPU upgrade. My 3 year old AMD desktop is acting up, so I am saving to buy a Intel Core i7 or Phenom 2 AM3 desktop.
