I'll number them to make it easier to answer :)

    1. Is there any difference between the M70 models in terms of build quality (M70-GL1 vs M70-GM3) or is that just to indicate the components inside?

    2. How is the general build quality on the Satellite M70 lineup? I've read some bad stories on Notebook review about the Satellite models in general, but nothing about the M70 specifically.

    3. Whats teh battery life like?

    4. Is this a good deal? M70-GM1 for $1100 canadian.

    1. The Model number just denotes what internal componets each notebook has.

    2. From what I've heard, the M70 has decent build quality - it's just the previous generation of the Toshiba Satellites you've got to watch out for. I'm guessing you're buying this in Canada, as the M70 isn't available in the US - I've heard some stories from other users on the site that have stated that the DVD-RW drive sometimes doesn't burn properly - I'd check your notebook for this problem as soon as you recieve it (if you decide to buy it).

    3. Battery life should be available on the spreadsheet provided on Toshiba's main site. I'd guess it'd be around 2-3 hours with the standard battery.

In addition, I'm not too fond of the GMA 900, especially if you're doing graphical work/playing games. I'd look into getting another notebook if you're going to be doing anything like that.
