    Question about ^

Okay, so, they're supposed to be all nifty and stuff, right? Hold down the Fn key and use the F-number keys and yay, you can adjust stuff.

Do they seem extremely slow to anyone else? I have to hold down the Fn key for a few seconds (I think that's just the software), and then they come down, but when they do, they're very laggy. Press a button like esc for mute, and then it takes a little while for the card to come down with the muting options, and that's also laggy.

This is taking place on a Satellite A-135 S2276, with 1.5GB RAM, Core Duo T2060, and ATI Radeon Xpress 200M. (Vista Home Basic) I have a feeling it has to do with the integrated graphics, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyone else know anything about this?

    Thanks.

Oh, and they also crash on occasion, like when changing the desktop background, which is really weird.

Nope, It's lagging on my "gaming" laptop and it has pretty good specs. It's a bad design by Toshiba's part. Not onlythat sometimes they dont even load, they freeze often, and many times my computer wont shut down because of some error with the flashcards.

Meh. Teh suck. Does anyone know if there is any third party software that can take the place of FlashCards? Anything that could have the same functionality would do... I'd like to be able to adjust screen brightness and mute/unmute without having to wait for Toshiba's slow butt.

no lagging here, working great, however once in a while they do not show up at all, nothing can bring them up except a restart of windows.

specs on my lappy are t5500 1.66ghz and 2gigs ram

Any new solution available for this?
There has to be a simpler and efficient method for purely adjusting the screen brightness and muting the sound, without hassling with the flash cards program and its memory consumption.
    Thanks
