Is Fn Esse kinda built in in Tecra 8200?
I am trying to increase LDC brightness (when using battery), is it by pressing Fn + F6/F7? Or someone can help...?

    regards

Use the Power Saver options, not FN Esse

Yes, I think that all new Toshiba's are the same. You press the FN key and then the F7 key to increase brightness and the F6 key to decrease brightnes.

Windows - The operating system that runs the world.

Toshiba - Quality, price, and features!

This is an old thread, but I did not see any newer on this subject.

On a Techra 8200, the FN>F6 F7 does not control brightness when on battery.

On my 8200, purchased used, the first thing I noticed was that the LCD is so dim on battery as to be almost unusable at normal room lighting. I thought it may have been a power saving feature because the battery was bad and only held a charge for a few minutes. Replaced the battery and the new one is great, but the screen is still dim.

I have made sure all power saving options, including in the bios, are set to max brightness. Still it is very dim on battery and actually unnecessarily bright on a/c.

Am I missing a setting in Windows or somewhere to control LCD brightness? If not, is there a 3rd party tool to control LCD brightness?

I really need more brightness when on battery, and would like to have a bit less on a/c.

    Thanks!
