I'm getting ready to buy the M100-ST5111 below. Is there any reason I shouldn't?! (or anything I should change?)

    • Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 2.00GHz
    • Windows® XP Home Edition SP2
    • Mist gray color
    • 1024MB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz SDRAM (1024MBx1)
    • 14.1" Diagonal Widescreen XGA TruBrite™ display (1280x768)
    • ATI Mobility™ Radeon® X1400 with 128MB DDR SDRAM
    • 40GB HDD (5400rpm, Serial-ATA)
    • CD-RW/DVD-ROM Multifunction drive
    • Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g)
    • Bluetooth® (v.2.0) + EDR
    • harman/kardon® stereo speakers
    • Lithium Ion Battery (6-cell, 4000mAh)
    Total: $1,427.15

    Thanks!

The price looks about right - I would seriously look at upgrading the HD though - 40GBs won't get you very far these days.

Of course your configuration depends completely upon your own requirements. I use the 40G drive because I backup all my data files to another computer with mass storage in my home so I can operate with a 40G drive.

For security, I use the USB 2.0 flash drive that enables you to encrypt any portion of it and protect it with a username and password. Just put your browser cache in there with all your working files and you'll be able to work anywhere -- including free wi-fi sites -- without a worry.

Anyway, since I just bought the same make and model, I think you've made a great choice. Also, the Satellite M100s are on sale right now.
