I bought my toshiba in nov 2008 and changed the vista to XP. The built in webcam doesnt show up nor can I find anyway of reinstalling it. I just visited currys where I bought it and was told that by taking off crappy vista I have invalidated my guarantee and they refuse to deal with me. anyone got any ideas

either
1. post your model info, and chances are someone will have the right driver
2. do a CLEAN Vista install, setting EVERYTHING to performance mode, and it will look/act just like XP
They can't void your warranty, they just won't support a non-OEM O.S. -
If I read right, I think MS is about to make windows seven RC1 available to the public and I think they said it would not expire for a year.. please correct me if that is wrong. But at this point, if your not happy with vista.. I'd go straight to seven. You might have to install vista for the RC to install... I think it will only upgrade from vista. But it should still format it off and install clean.
