I'm trying to use a secondary monitor via the HDMI port and it seems that it cannot detect the monitor. I just did a clean install of Win7 with all the necessary drivers (updated display drivers etc.). Am I missing a driver or something to enable HDMI output on the Portege? I go through the Intel Graphics Options and even 'WINKEY+P' and it won't detect the HDMI output.

My other laptop can output fine thru HDMI to the monitor so I cannot see why the Portege cannot.

I've had the same problem with my R835 but haven't found a solution (other than using the RGB output to connect to the LCD monitor).
Using FN + F5, I can select the single monitor output and it recognizes the LCD model (using "adjust screen resolution" in Control Panel under Windows 7). I've tried various screen resolutions that the monitor supports - no visual signal but audio is supported. I suspect its a driver issue but am sticking with the RGB connection since it works OK - if you find another solution I'd like to know!

Yea it seems like the HDMI output may be defective. I read on the toshiba forums there were some unresolved HDMI output issues like this one with the R700.
