    Sure you can install any OS you want on it. With XP you will either need to slipstream the SATA support into the installation CD or switch to "compatibility mode" in the BIOS (if available), but it will certainly work.

    If I decided that I wanted to uninstall xp and install vista how hard would it be? If it would be hard at all?

    As long as you have each disc and a license it's incredibly easy. Just boot from the Vista installation disc and format the C partition when prompted where to install Windows. It should do this automatically and will wipe out XP.
