Has anyone dropped a Meron core (64bit Core 2 Duo) CPU into their Qosmio G35 AV600?

    I tried. No post.

I had the latest BIOS update too.

I have heard some times they drop in with nothing more. Other times a BIOS update is needed. And some times the dont work at all.

I'm guessing the board cant put out the extra 3 watt draw needed by the 64bit CPU's.

Has anyone had this some issue? Is there a work-a-round?

It should work. TDP doesn't matter.

BIOS updates do indicate Merom Support.

Which CPU are you trying to install ?
