    Hi folks i finally choose Toshiba Satellite A305-S6861 with all thoughts goin thru ma mind calling everyone regarding the laptop had one hell of time choosing it , is it worth it

    Without knowing what you're planning on using it for it's hard to say.

    For general computing and non CPU intensive tasks it will be good, doubt you'll be doing any major 3d rendering or top of the line gaming with it though.

    I really think you should take into consideration the new Intel platform before purchasing this laptop, because even though you have 4g ram, a good graphics card, and overall nice specs, the heart and sole of your computer is lower than it could be for around the same price.

    I'm looking at the same laptop for myself!!! i think i'm gonna order it through amazon, i think they don't charge tax, although i'm not sure, i think it depends on the state! The fact that it has a good descrete video card is what pushed me over the edge. Most of the other ones i looked at for this $$ had intergrated graphics or had the bottom of the barrel discrete video cards, this one is better than the hd 2400 or hd 3450, so it's not all the way at the bottom =) if you get it , post up and give us your thoughts on it!!!

    are u sure tat u will save tax on amazon ,once i get had on this i will surely post it up here ,i should be getting on 7th of August ie when ma parents are gonna come to India
