Hi guys, I have a little question about Toshiba M30/35 series..

I'm going to buy a new notebook for a business usage, I'm an IT consultant.
I want to buy Toshiba notebook just for 1 reason: in Indonesia (my country) Toshiba is #1 for after sales services. Toshiba (for notebook) is just like Nokia (for cellphone) in my country.

Right now, I'm choosing Toshiba M35-S320.

The question is, according to this website's review:
    http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Computer-Systems/Toshiba-M35S320-Laptop-Review/
One of the weakness in this notebook is.. the heat at the base of this notebook.
I'm going to use this notebook let's say.. about 10hrs per-day. I'm gonna using it for processing java apps with JBuilder (Tomcat etc), running databases (MySQL, Oracle, etc) which is make a big burden (and of course, producing more heat) for this notebook.
I'm AFRAID the continous heat will make this notebook HANG, and that will turn my face red (imagine if that HANG is coming while I'm training a group of Director hahaha) [ :D]

So.. M30/35 users (esp M35-S320), pliss give me some review about the heat.. Is it normal? or?
From all M30/35 series, which one is the coolest?
B'cos if the heat is too high, I rather buy IBM T42 (although it's more expensive, but from what I read in IBM's forum, T42 is a superb and no heat issue there).

Pliss post your comments guys, thx before.. [ :D]

The M30/M35 Series does seem to have a heat problem approx a bit to the left of where the glidepad is located. Some say it's the wifi card, other say it's the HDD, but most say it gets very uncomfortable to the touch after a while. I don't think the system will hang because of the heat. It looks like the notebook casing is acting like a heat sink and dissipating the heat (due to the thinness of the unit). Ome thing that has helped some users is to buy a notebook cooler. It's generally a 1.5" (approx) platform with fans that the notebook sits on. The fans blow cool air onto the bottom of the notebook and therefore keeping it cool.

I haven't read any heat issue with the IBM notebooks. It will cost you more money, but will probably be a more durable notebook. Since the IBM notebooks are more suited for business use, this may be your better choice.

I've used the M35 a good deal and haven't noticed this at all, nor have I received any complaints from my father in law, the machines' owner.

Since I am in the market for a notebook also, I looked at this one.

My store had a floor model. I think it's ok if you are going to leave it on a table but the bottom of the model does get hot. The left side of the keyboard does get a little warm also.
