Hello everyone, I have a Toshiba nb205 mini notebook and today it wont boot.
when I turn it on the Toshiba start screen comes on and then right to black screen with the cursor at top left. Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, And it is out of warranty.

    Thanks, Rob

Remove the battery and unplug it, wait for a bit, then with battery still removed plug it back in and power it up. That has worked most of the time with these. Also make sure you have the latest BIOS, go out to Toshiba's support site and install the latest version.

    Hello,

It sounds like the POST is working as you see the "Toshiba start screen" - Pressing the F2 will take you to the BIOS - Test if you can go to the BIOS - If so then it may not be, necessarily, a hardware problem.

Pressing F12 when you see the "Toshiba start screen" will take you to the boot option menu - Try booting to the Win7 DVD you used to upgrade to Win7 - Or if it came with Win7 and you've not removed the factory partition you do have the option of doing a "Factory Recovery" - This is done by Holding the 0 (zero) key and powering on the computer. If you got the netbook with Win7 and you didn't delete the factory partitions then try pressing the F8 key once a second to see if you can get to the Windows Recover Environment. There is a startup procedure there to help identify Win7 Startup issues.

    Hope this helps,
    In Christ,
    Trav...

I would try getting getting into this BIOS as stated above and make sure it sees thhe harddrive. If it does I would boot from Win 7 DVD if you have an external drive or boot from USB thumbdrive that you made bootable...
