Argh! Ususally when I'm using my notebook, I'm playing sound from the speakers so I rarely or never hear the fan noise. But just today, I decided to do things like web surfing without playing music and such.
And right now, the fan is just running constantly at full blast, even when I'm using NHC to throttle my CPU down from 2.0 ghz to 800 mhz.

Am I using it on the wrong surface and so its overheating or is the fan faulty? Is there a fan control utility I can get? I'm afraid that if I shut up the fan, then my computer will overheat which is worse.

I could understand if the fan was running at full blast which I was gaming or video encoding but all I'm doing is SURFING THE FREAKING INTERNET!!! ARRRGHHH!!!

But the fan right now just won't shut up, its just running constantly and very loudly. It didn't used to do this before. I just put it on standby and the fan shutup but the very instant it comes back from standby, the fan just goes into full blast agian. WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?

    HAAALPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I shut off the computer and powered it on again and so far, the fan is quiet thankfully. Wonder what the heck happened!?

This used to happen on my old Satellite - it would randomly kick its fan into overdrive and keep it running at max. all the time, unless you did a complete shut down/restart.
