Need some help with my Toshiba Satellite M35X-S311 laptop. My usb ports are not working. Device showed an exclamation point…so I uninstalled the Intel(R)82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD from the hardware device manager, because it wouldn't update nor would it allow to reinstall on reboot. When I try to reinstall keep getting the error "cannot install this hardware"..."The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request". I was going to try booting to BIOS...but I don't have a USB keyboard to see if the problem is hardware or software. Any other ideas? I’d really rather NOT get a new motherboard....or can I fix the usb ports without getting a new motherboard?

Are you sure your USB port's are enabled at BIOS ?

No not sure...that's why I thought if I had a usb keyboard, I would be able to tell if I booted to BIOS...cuz the keyboard wouldn't work. Is there a way I can install usb drivers in BIOS?

    - You can try to enter BIOS setup and check that USB ports are enabled...
    - You can try to update your BIOS...
