I have an L355D, was working fine, no issues at all (system A). I purchased another L355D as a backup (system B). I swapped the disk drive to System B, and left System A sitting on my desk.

Fast forward a couple months... I needed two systems up, so I took out System A, loaded it with a factory default restored drive, connected an A/C power supply. No lights at all. Pushed the power button. Nada. Nothing. No lights at all. Plugged in the A/C power. Nada. No lights at all. Tested AC supply with meter and in another system - working fine. Put in a known working, charged battery. Nada. Pulled out the memory and disk drive, re-inserted, Nada. Pull out the disk drive and memory, left out, Nada, no lights at all.

It's totally dead. I'm confused. I know about Toshiba's power problems... but this was working perfectly, sitting unplugged, untouched. Now it's totally dead. About the only thing going on aroung it is that it's been hot and humid most days.

So, what to check? I'm semi-qualified with a screwdriver and meter...but what do I go looking for? What would die while sitting?

If it's under warranty I would call Toshiba Customer Support

I honestly have no idea, but if you don't get any help in the Toshiba subforum, you can also try the "hardware" subforum located here:

    Hardware Components and Aftermarket Upgrades

There's also more people that participate in the hardware section.

Good luck and keep us updated.
