There is a diagonal black line going across the monitor of my Toshiba Satellite A 105 Notebook and I need advice.. I want to know if I can fix it myself or what I should do in order to get it fixed while spending the least amount of money possible. Help Please!!
If I touch it, a shadow appears about 4 or 5 inches on both sides of my finger so it is probably not a software issue.. and the line just came up one time when i opened up my laptop, not sure if i closed it too hard or what.. but I really need the help or my parents will kill me!![]()

Seems like a cracked screen. IMO if you want advice you should take a picture of it so people wont have to guess. If it is cracked you are SOL. No way to fix a cracked LCD. Only way is screen replacement or hook up an external LCD. Replacement is usually expensive however the A105 is a bit old so you might find a cheap one.
Seems to cost $150ish on Ebay. -
killafresh,
This is a Toshiba-related issue and not Desktop Hardware, so I will move it to that appropriate forum! Thank you.

alright sorry for posting in wrong place
but here is a picture of it.. -
Definitely a cracked screen. Only choice is replacement. Check eBay for replacement; about $150 for new.
