also, do i have to download the bios updates from the toshiba tech site?

    thanks in advance

I'm not sure what drivers you loaded, but I just use the stuff from the Toshiba Support website, not the recovery disc. It's got all the latest and greatest drivers and software and all you will need except for the laptop2govideo drivers. it does have Toshiba's latest video drivers there, but I just prefer the newer modified release from the laptop2go site.

As to the reader, I just used the drivers from the website and its worked fine... I just go through and install all the driver files, and leave off most of the appilcation or tools.... it's there somewhere though.

Curious, did the same memory card read properly before the reformat?

did a quick check, this is what the driver i used for mine was called, and has worked fine:

Driver Flash Memory SD TI Card Reader Driver for Windows Vista/XP (v2.0.0.7 Logo; 03-15-2007; 7.12M)

    good luck!

Go in Device Manager, uninstall it, reboot, and install it again with the latest drivers from toshiba web site

so that exact card worked fine in your X205 before you reinstalled windows? Just tryin to narrow it down, sorry if that seems repetitive

Hey everyone! I'm at a total stand still here and you all seem pretty knowledgeable with this x205.

Jesse, from another forum helped me out with the SATA driver load and it worked great and I have XP in my X205-S9349 but, I have a couple of Device Manager driver problems that I can't seem to fix. I have gone to Toshiba and downloaded all of the VISTA/XP drivers and other drivers from Intel and from nVidia but, none seem to take with XP when it comes to the video driver.
I was able to get everything else to work except for one that says ...
unknown and, of course the one for video.

Also, I went to Intel and got the chipset drivers from them but, when I try to run the video driver it tells me "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will exit."
Any other video drivers that I have tried "seem to go in" but do NOTHING to eliminate the driver problem and my video is semi slow.

I was able to fix the "BIOMETRIC COPROCESSOR", "MODEM", NETWORK CONTROLLER problems but, I am still having problems with loading the PCI MEMORY CONTROLLER and VIDEO CONTROLLER.
I am ready to wipe it all out and start again from a clean slate.
    ugh!

Any suggestions? I saw where a couple of you are saying that you are running this pc on Windows XP. How did you fix the driver problems, especially in Video?

Hope the answer is out there.
    Alan

There is no driver for the pci memory controller as XP does not support the turbo cache memory controller so don't worry about that one, the for video controller I went to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15825 and downloaded the 169.04 drivers for XP 32 bit and also the modified inf driver then after you extract the drivers you then replace the original inf file with the modified one you downloaded and then the drivers should recognize the 8700M GT video card.
