I have a Toshiba Satellite P15-s409 that is approximately 3 years old. I recently took it in for hard drive problems and had that fixed. Not 3 weeks later, it's coming up with some new problems. While playing World of Warcraft, I went afk for probably 5 minutes and came back to find my computer frozen. Even after ctrl-alt-del and alt-tab, I got nothing. So I went to restart and when I turned it back on, all I got was a black screen (like no illumination) and the sound of my hard drive spooling and the fan turning on for all of 5 seconds before it just went quiet. The little blue power light came on, the hard drive light flickered, but that was it. So I closed the laptop, went out and about and came in about 5 or 6 hours later. I turn it on, and it boots normal. I read some forums that said it could've been cooling problems, so I check my email and go to sleep. The next day I come home from school and turn it on, only to find it doing the "I don't wanna boot" thing again. So, using my mom's comp I read about disassembling the cooling portion of the computer and proceed to do so. After taking apart the comp, I find hair, dust and all that crap covering the little radiator looking thing. I went to a local computer store and bought a can-o-air to spray it all out. I reassembled the computer, turned it on and lo and behold, nothing. Same stuff as before. So I figured I missed a screw or something, took it apart again including the ram and spray dusted all that out too to be sure. Upon reassembly, I looked at the bottom of the radiator thing....which had my processor (?) attatched. Upon closer inspection, I saw one of the pins went slightly off compared to the others. I sloooooowly put it back to the symmetry of the others and reassembled my computer....only to find no boot.
Now, I'm stumped as I don't have any clue about this stuff, perhaps one of you fine individuals could give me some advice as to what I'm looking at to repair it, including approximate cost, because if it comes down to it (although I don't want to) I'll just go and buy a new comp for a couple hundred bucks more. Thanks to all who respond to this.

    Hmm...

Including pictures might help us a little bit in solving your problem. However, when you say "radiator thing", do you mean the part of the cooling system near the cooling vent(s)?

Yeah...it's the little copper assembly that is situated right by the fans. Also, I don't have a digital camera so pics are kinda out :(

Well, since the CPU isn't located on the copper heatsink, so from the information you've given me I can say fairly confidently that the CPU should be intact. I'm still puzzled as to why your notebook doesn't work properly - can you get it to boot at all? Right now, I'd try hooking up the notebook to an external display to see if the screen is blown or not.
