What exactly did you do before your laptop won't turn on?

FYI, you can always take your hard drive out and connect it to another computer to retrieve your data

The laptop was in stand-by mode. I put it on bed and folded down the screen. When I renturned, it won't power up...

By the way: what is the HD interface on a notebook? IDE or something else? Can I use an enternal enclosure to connect it to PC?

you may have overheated it when you left it on the bed because you blocked the vents, try removing the battery to see if it will start, if not you may have fried your board

Don't know if you tried this, but take the battery pack out and just plug the AC adpater in your laptop.
It sounds like a hardware failure of some sort (maybe the motherboard ot graphics card?)
Yea, you can purcase a HD case on ebay for like 5 or 6 bucks. Here's link to one (I purchased one earlier too for my notebook hard drive)

So all you ahve to do is take your current hard drive out and put it in the case. the USB cables are provided and just have to plug it into another computer to retrieve your data. So basically, by doing this you are turing your currnet hard drive to an external hard drive for a few bucks!
