I live in DC, and when I went to order a Tecra M6, I noticed that it tacked on $110 sales tax. Ok, no problem, so I plugged in my office address in Virginia, and it charged a $90 sales tax?

Why is this? I though you could only charge a sales tax if you had a physical retail / distribution location in that state?

They probably have an office there or whatnot. Could even be a corporate sales thing, who knows, but they also charge tax in teh states I'ves used, OH and AZ.

Man, this is actually a dealbreaker for me because it adds $100+ to the cost.

Yeah it sucks, even worse in the cases where they're the only ones that sell certain configs, the high end M4 comes to mind. You just couldn't buy the thing anywhere else.
