grab the flexible plastic tab, and slide it over, it will slide off the connector. (The compartment plastic cover has a tab on it to keep the drive in place)Then you'll need to take the brackets off and install on new drive. By the way, the drive you want to change is in the small compartment, near the center.

thank you very much OV10stang for your help . i never thought i had to grab that fexible plastic . i never worked with laptops and this is a new thing for me :)

in my opinion the black plastic was some thing for protection ( my english is not that good , and i cannot find the word for it . but i thought it was something to stop the hdd interfere with wifi for example. )

anyways , thank you for your help again OV10stang
    and thank you notebookreview

    regards,

    hi,

it runs smooth . It's an 160gb Seagate momentus 7200rpm 8mb buffer. (hitachi was too expensive for me :p )

It' runs nice. I tested the laptop with both the 4200rpm hdd that came with the laptop and with the seagate. There is cleary a good improvenent during loading . And unzipping files takes less time too . I am currious if it will make any difference in games , but i don't think so .

i wanted to use the 4200 rpm drive as a secopndary drive , but when i opened the case i noticed that there is no cage for it :) . I t hink toshiba did this to force customers to buy a laptop with 2 hdds. Why won't they include the hdd "cage" for the secondary slot ? Just to make us mad ? :) Because the laptop supports 2 hdds , so i see not logic in this :)

Anyways, the laptop is ok , but the video card driver is giving me a headake :)

I guess they never intended to include the second HDD connectivity for models with one HDD, there is even no connector for it.
The case just happen to have a second bay molded. That is just to use the single case design and single case manufacturing line for all X205 submodels.
