Maybe im too picky, maybe im used to better quality laptop, i don't know... you guys tell me.
But i tried all recent Satellite A100 TA9 and VA9 and i just can't stand the poor keyboard layout on these laptop.
The spongy bouncy spillproff keyboard is just getting on my nerve and the over heat coming from the keybard is so intense that my left hand keep sweating like crazy.
I use a latop mainly for gaming and typing, so my hands are idle on the keyboard for a long period.. So ALL the heat coming from the keyboard (left hand section) is extremely annoying !!!
Some of the heat generated from this laptop vents directly onto the left hand located above the QWER,ASDF.ZXCV keys.
Now, i know this is not only happening to Toshiba, ive seen few Lenovo with that problem. but still this is annoying for long usage.
Anyway, if anyone know how to reduce the Heat coming out above the QWER, ASDF, ZXCV keys, please post it.
Since this is spill-proff keyboard, should i just put some icecube on it ? will that work ???
Why is there a Power button, Play, Start on the left ????? because of those useless buttons, your entire keyboard is about 1 inch off center (1 inch too much on the right) its definately not ergonomic at all.
Anyway for these reasons, i don't like any of the recent Satellite model. Why can't they just make it right ? danmit.

Well, when I first got my A100, the keyboard being offset was the only problem I had. But I have since grown out of that and am quite use to it now.
I DO NOT recommend putting an ice cube on the keyboard. It may be spill proof, but theres still definately a chance water will find its way inside.
The only problem I am having with this laptop is it keeys switching to the french keyboard and its really pissing me off. My question mark is an "Éé". -
I gotta say I love my TA9 - the keyboard doesn't bug me one bit. And unlike the 19 inch versions, it's nice and centred.
As for the heat - sure, when I'm cruel to my computer, heat vents out the left side, but I've never had it "come through the keyboard".
So either you're too picky, or... -
I have an A100 and it doesn't have the spill proof feature so it's not springy.
I undervolt my cpu to the lowest setting, which is stable and the cpu never reaches over 57 degrees on full load both cores (2x Prime95). Usually never over 51 degrees when gaming.
How can you guys use Toshiba Satellite A100 VA9 or TA9 ?? i cant!!
