Hi. I decided to go with Toshiba Satellite as my first laptop (though i am experienced pc user). Going to choose from a200 and m200 (the later one is a successor of m100 series, as it have been released recently feedbacks about m100 are welcome) series. I wonder how often do they break down? Is it a reasonable idea to extend their warranty up to 2 or even 3 years? Thank you for your consideration![]()

I cannot give you specific feedback on the models you referenced, but I have owned a number of Toshibas over the years and have always had good luck with them. I do encourage buying warranty extensions on laptops in general, for peace of mind. A single problem can easily cost way more then the price of a warranty extension and it's not like these things are easy to crack open and troubleshoot like desktops are. The Toshiba warranty plans are very reasonably priced in my opinion, are quite competitive, and usually are being offered on sale at toshibadirect.
On the other hand, if you are like some of the aftermarket professional tweakers and customizers here at this site, you'll void your warranty way before you need itBut this select group of pros don't appear to need no stinkin' warranties anyways.

Depends on how you care for it and how much you use it.

When you have your laptop in a case, do you like just throw it in your room.
I dunno really, just how do you use it.
As long as you dont drop your laptop to the floor without any protection, nothing should break really.
How often do Toshibas get back to warranty fix?
