Since our lovely folks at toshiba dont feel they need to provide updated nvidia video drivers; And the reference drivers from Nvidia wont work. Here's how I did it.
This should apply to any Toshiba(probably other brands too) laptop that has a sandy bridge intel CPU, and an Nvidia GPU w/ optimus.
First go here: NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com
-Click drivers
-Pick the latest one and for your OS and click the link.
-Then click "Click here to download driver and INF file"
Download both the driver and the INF file.
Run the driver file and extract the driver files wherever you want.
Open the "Display.Driver" folder in the directory you extracted to.
Copy the nv_disp.INF file you downloaded over to Display.Driver - Click yes to replace the existing file.
Then run the setup.exe in the main directory of where you extracted everything. It should then install the driver without any trouble.
And that's it! This method worked for me on my Qosmio X775. I cannot say whether or not it will for you unfortunately - oh and if you screw something up - its not my fault![]()
After doing this, you can also update your Intel HD Graphics drivers if you have a sandy bridge i/3/5/7 directly from Intel's website, because I believe Toshiba's are also outdated.

Thanks! I might try this soon on my x505.
+rep for good info -
Thanks I tried it on my R835-P56x and it said it was not compatible with the hardware. jimjoh

That model doesnt have an Nvidia card in it, at least not according to tosbiba's site.

I have tried this and it does work, the only problem is it dosent install 3d vision software for the x7753d lap-top. You cant view 3d games or use the nvidia 3d glasses...

I updated the graphics drivers on my R830 manually. The same process should work with the R835. As stated above there is no nvidia graphics here; the graphics processor is integrated with the chipset. You can get the driver here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...+Processors+with+Intel®+HD+Graphics+3000/2000
You must download the zip file (not the exe file) and install MANUALLY---all attempts to install using setup.exe or other automated method will fail. Unzip to any location (indicated as \location below). Then Device Manager, Display Adapters, Intel HD graphics family, Update Driver Software, Browse my computer for driver software, Have Disk, Let me pick from a list, then browse to \location\graphics and select the .inf file.
Before this my Windows Experience numbers were 7.1/7,5/ 4.7/6.2/7.0 (don't hate me, I have an i7 and an SSD).
After installing the new driver, the numbers were 7.1/7.5/ 6.3/6.3/7.0. The third and fourth numbers are the graphics indexes.
WARNING: there may be heat management issues or other problems. Your computer could go up in flames. You have been warned; this update is at your own risk. -
I dont see why it wont install that.. maybe the inf file needs changed somewhere. -
If I install the latest drivers (280.36) on the website linked here with the nv_disp.INF file it takes away the ability to change the screen brightness. If you isntall the latest drivers directly from Nvidia.com (280.26) everything works. There was no significant differences between both of the drivers, Vantage scores where the same, so I sticked with the one from nvidia.com.
Just make sure you select the 460m drivers manually. If you try using their scanning software it refers you to toshiba -
i was able to install the 280.26 form nvidia site but the nvidia 3d glases and games dont work..
-
Did you uninstall the previous drivers first? Works fine for me.

Hmmm, my P750 i got yesterday works fine with the standard nvidia display drivers, and it`s an Optimus, I thought i would have to fight to get display drivers to work, and the Nvidia graphics, core and memory speeds have not been crippled at all, exactly what notebookcheck said they should be

Drivers install fine but no 3d support, you guys don't have a 3d lap-top, if you did you would notice that the new drivers won't run 3d aps on your lap-top.
