I decided to go with the Qosmio X505-Q894 or Q896.
The cheapest I could find for the Q894 is $1359.69
The cheapest I could find for the Q896 is $1414.53
Is there any website offering any cheaper for either of these two?
Do games perform better on the 94 or 96? I heard that the 96 may
have a hard time running heavy games such as crysis compared to
the 94 because of resolution.

The computing/graphics capabilities are exactly the same for both computers. Since the 96 has a higher native resolution (1920x1080), it can play games at a higher resolution; higher resolution can lead to lower fps.
Thus, chose a resolution that is the same as the 94 (1680x945). (games let you decide your resolution; you can select the same resolution as the 94 and the 96 will perform the same).
As far as the price, both prices you stated are pretty cheap. -
Thanks alex, I guess I will go with the 96. But do you or anyone know if the Q896 price will go down due to new models that is installed with i7 Sandy Bridge?
-
The 89X series prices probably will go down. Also, the Sandy Bridge (gen. 2) Qosmios are already coming out (some stores are already selling them) and they have a higher price tag than their current i5/i7 (gen. 1) counter parts.

If possible, you should only play at the native resolution. Otherwise the image will become a little bit blurred. I haven't seen any benchmarks, but I would be surprised if the difference in performance between the Q896 and the Q894 is very noticeable. At those prices, I'd probably go with the Q896, but I also use my Qosmio to work. If you are going to use it only for gaming, I guess the Q894 will perform a little bit better, so it might be a better choice.
ED: I am afraid prices are rather unpredictable. When the current generation of Qosmios with Geforce 460 replaced the 360 ones, the prices of the 360s remained pretty much the same. I have the impression that sales occur before the launch of the new models, not afterwards, but I might be wrong. -
i agree, the sales are more than likly going to be before the release of the newer generation verses afterwardes, i also agree, the prices of the older x500/x505 models have remained the same. so to me i doubt the prices are going to drop much if any, its just going to come down to your buy in price, either you are going to get a newer generation or a slightly older generation for hundreds more.
only problem on that is who knows how long the sandybridge is going to be out before another model comes out with upgrades -
The price here in Norway on my model have raised in some stores....to almost massive 3340 USD....sick

with 945p you will get ~20-25% more fps.
460m gtx isn't enough for 1080p (imo)
I am buying X505-Q894 or Q896, I need help
