Well... as it turns out, I've sold the X505 I had and the new owner is here in town. Good friend of mine he is, and he loves that thing. He was using an older desktop machine that was using an older E6400 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, and a REALLY REALLY old 7300 LE GPU...and...dare I say it...XP...![]()
But I'd like to thank you all for the tremendous amount of help you all were.It was awesome. Even though the Qosmio line wasn't as popular as most would agree, I did manage to turn a few heads with it and had one of the managers at Best Buy jot down a few notes on it and apparently wanted to see if they could start selling the Qosmio too. XD He loved the new models and thought it might add a bit more competition too.

But alas, I needed a bit more horsepower in the end and found it with a killer deal. Makwu, here on NBR, sold me his M17x R2 for $900. It featured a single 6970M when I bought it and now it has two in CrossfireX. Specs are as follows:
---Alienware M17x R2---

And the old machine next:
---Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q892---
18.4" LED Screen @ 1680x945
Intel Core i5-460M - Operated @ 2.8GHz under standard settings 2c/4t

And last but not least, here's the 3DMark Vantage Score I got with the new machine and comparing it to the overclocked X505.![]()
Result
Took a LOT of work to get this running and I have to admit...the Harmon/Kardon speakers in the Toshiba had WAY more bass than the ones in the Alienware do. XD

Awww you switched teams!
P.S.- That is one heck of a GPU upgrade though. Good luck with your new laptop.
I bid thee all farewell! (My thanks to you all...)
