This will be my third notebook PC, and it has been 9 years since I had purchased my last notebook pc. My first 2 were compaq presario notebooks, and both had serious issues after about 1 year of use. I lost alot of faith in notebook reliability due to my previous problems with them. I have come to the point where I must have a notebook pc because of school. My brother and my friend both have Toshiba notebooks, and they have not experienced any reliability issues after several years of use. This is my main reason for deciding to get a Toshiba. I was also looking into getting a dell inspiron 1520 with similar specs, but I wasn't too thrilled about the possibility of getting one with a grainy display or the headphone noise issue. I have worked at Office Depot for 3 years now, and out of that time frame I can only remember seeing 3 or 4 Toshiba notebooks returned or exchanged because of problems. Most of the problems were simple fixes that the customer (usually an idiot) didn't know how to deal with. Out of all the brands that we sell, I have seen more HP/Compaq and Gateway notebooks returned or DOA (dead on arrival). Sometimes the HP's simply stop working after they have been on display for a few weeks. So far it seems that the only brands worth buying from a retail store are Sony, Lenovo, and Toshiba's. Just my .02![]()
I just purchased an A200S CTO through Office Depot
