I was wondering if Civ 5 would run on my Q885, before I take it out of the wrap.![]()

...yes......
-
I take that as a strong guess? lol
I guess I can take the risk. -
Well here are the specs:
Looks like you will have no problem with either the minimum or the recommended requiremnts, except for the Quad Core, but I really don't see that making much of a difference, to be honest. I forget, the 360m is DirextX 11 compatible, right? -
No, the 360m isn't DX11 compatible. That was a large part of why I waited for the 460m, because aside from the substantial performance increase, its DX11 performance is actually better than the 5870m.
However, I don't think you'll see a big difference with Civ5. DX11 games haven't really taken off yet. -
Oh my! What kind of question is that, Richard? I bet your Qosmio feels offended and is not talking to you anymore.
-
How do I know that my GTS 360m is better than a 9800?
-
Check out this site: Mobile Graphics Cards - Benchmark List - Notebookcheck.net Tech

All those are mobile cards, I want to compare my 360m to a desktop 9800.
That is a great resource though. Thanks for sharing it. -
It's installed. The setting are mostly set to low or med and res was low too.
I don't know if it sets it to my system or if these are why they all are set too. I'll check it out. -
Having fun? Runs great, doesn't it?
-
Yeah, it's pretty good. They have made some changes I really like. No more do I have to build transports to colonize a stupid island three squares off! I like the social thingy, it's like a spec for your nation. I like the ability to purchase spaces in your city. Quick and easy expansion you control!
Mostly I am slowly going through it.
I know this is in the wrong place.....
