Hello everyone! I have a friend with a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064 who knows less about computers than me, if thats possible. :) His Satellite contracted a virus and I offered to run the recovery disks and then update windows, etc... His laptop was filthy, so I used isopropyl alcohol to clean the screen which "wicked" and caused a "blemish" behind the display cover. Being the special type idiot that I am, I decided to try and "gently" pry the edge of the LCD back to blow it out with compressed air. I'll bet you already know what happened next. Thats right, a busted screen. I am wondering if any of the A105 series LCDs will work as a replacement or must it be from an identical model number (A105-S4064)?

Thank you in advance for the help, and for not eviscerating me. :(

Don't worry, there are plenty of people who have done worse than you. :D

Fortunately there is a site called www.laptopscreen.com, where they have screens for just about every model of Toshiba notebooks there are. The following link should have a screen in stock for the A105-S4064.

    Good luck. :)

Thank you Shadow, I do appreciate the response. So am I to infer from your reply that a A105-SXXXX parts machine from that auction site wont do the job as the screens are model specific?

It's possible that they will be compatible as they are pretty much all the same size within that model line, but I'd still try and get a screen that fits your specific model number.

The last XXXX of the model number is usually just the configuration/specs of the notebook.

As long as its an A105 screen it should work.

Thank you flipfire, this is what I desperately wanted to know! :)
Now the search for a parts machine begins. If anyone happens to "see" a worthy contender in their travels, please let me know. I,ll post again as soon as I find one. Thanks again guys for your kind and informative responses.
