I saw a good offer on a toshiba satellite U200 and want to purchase it, only problem is the Windows XP Home delivered with it is in French, and I want an English one.. OK, I have the English one here, so I can activate it, but I was wondering if I can just install the English version, and remove the French one. Do I have to re-install all the driver and stuff? If so, can I find them on the Toshiba-website?

    Thx in advance.
    Greetings, 'pimpin :)

Yes you can remove the french xp but it might be faster and easier to reformat and install the english xp. The answer to your second question is also yes, you have to re-install drivers and any utility software which you might want - all of these should be available on their website. I say this because it has been known for some manufacturers to omit compulsory and I don't have any experience of toshiba

What's your particular model? Is it of French origin? It could possibly be not possible to find the specific drivers for you particular model, so you may have to "borrow" some from another, similar model sold in North America.

    bigpimpin,
I think you could find a better price for U200 in Germany rather than in France (it starts at 1040 eur here).

You may have problems with installing your own windows on toshiba notebooks.
It maybe not so straightforward as usual. I forgot the details I read somewhere in the summer when I was considering Toshiba TabletPC.
    However, the difficulty is avoidable.
