hey, i have an x205-s9359 and i've read that i should download the 169.09 driver from laptopvideo2go. i did that, and when i try to install the driver, an error comes up that says that it can't find any drivers that are compatable with my hardware. did i download the right driver? if i did, then how do i install it? if i didn't, then which one should i download. and yes, i did download the one for vista 32 bit. thanks for your help in advance

Did you download the '.inf' file along with it on L2G website?
    1. Extract the 169.09 onto desktop or where ever. (a new folder with now appear)
    2. Drag and drop the .inf file into the new extracted folder. (when it prompts to write over, click yes)
    3. Open up the extracted folder and click on setup.exe (please uninstall current Nvidia Drivers first, then boot up in safe-mode to install).
    4. Once installed in safe-mode, start up windows normally and goto settings to adjust the screen resolution to the prefered size.

(note: screen size is a fixed 800*600 resolution when drivers have uninstalled, once the new ones have been installed they will stay 800*600 until you change them manually)

here is the link. The INF file is next to the Driver Version on the list.

You have to download the driver, than extract it to a file once you do that you need to download the .INF file from laptopvideo2go's website into the folder that you extracted the driver installer to. It is going to ask if you want to replace it, simply click yes and it will copy over the old .inf file and you should be good.

ok, so i downloaded the inf. i put it into the folder, but it did not prompt me to replace anything, it just accepted it. i double clicked set up, and it seemed to install it just fine. i didn't uninstall the previous drivers or do it in safe mode. is it necessary to do it like that or am i ok like this?? and thanks for your help, i really appreciate it

If its working fine, I wouldn't worry about it.
But Uninstalling first does actually help get rid of ALL old the Nvidia files (including the no-longer needed ones).
The newer installation may just write over the current files inside of the current Folder, and any files that are no-longer needed will still be there taking up space...

I agree, you should be fine. I've upgrade my Sli3 (in XP) through several versions with no un-installs. 169.09 works great for me so far.

This is probably a dumb question but is there a big difference between this driver version and the stock version? Is there an increase in performance? If so, would you say its about a 5% boost or something like a 50% boost. Also, does the HD DVD player still work? I remember some people having that issue when changing drivers. Sorry about all the question, im just a novice and I dont want to screw up my X205.

    Stock Drivers = Crap

    New Drivers = :D

    'Nuff said.

I dont have a percentage for you, but there is a decent boost in performance. I dont see how it would affect HD Dvd playing, except for improvements (Especially if you have an SLI x205).
