But is there currently a way to get it to work with winamp? In other forums people talked about how the current release supports it, but when i downloaded it, it still didnt give the option to use something other then WMP...

This is such an irritating issue with me, cause my desktop computers media buttons(Logitech elite keyboard) work flawlessly so iv been spoiled with reasonable software.

BTW, the remoteX did work, but it was really flaky... sometimes it wouldn't work at all after i loaded XP, and it was always sitting in my taskbar.

Iv ben really happy with my toshiba M70, but in all honesty i would rather they just ditch the entire 'media controls' thing, if they dont plan on opening it up to alternative media players... Atleast to make the keyboard less cluttered for me, and the other 80% of computer users who dont use WMP.

I agree. I've never been a fan of fancy media controls on notebooks because of difficult it can be at times to map them to another program.

I just dont get it.... it shouldnt be TOO hard to do a reg. edit or hack on this, to support other music apps.

So **** frustrating. It wouldnt take little/any effort for toshiba to add it either.
