    Hi Guys

I like my laptop but I been thinking to tune this great machine up a little bit, and
would like to hear your opinion on it if it is worth it or not

    CPU upgrade to T7700 $330 !?
    Hard Drive 7200rpm 160Gb for $140
    2x2GB DDR2 667 or 800 ? $85

and would this Laptop support DDR2 800Mhz ?

So all that worth $550 ? Would this really boost the performance ?
    Thnx
    Steve

No Intel notebook supports 800MHz, and I do not even think the mobile AMD ones do either.

To help you out on other points there:
    1) Save money and get a lower CPU, T7300 would be enough. This is mostly because no application is going to demand all the CPU power, so why get more when you cannot even really use it at all?
    2) HDD: 5400 v. 7200 is really not a big deal. Performance differences are there, but they are not gigantic. It is going to (at best) only help loading times and NOT overall usage UNLESS you use applications that constantly need HDD access.
    3) 800MHz RAM is worthless for you...get 667.

Just skimming through but Crucial indicates that the X205 does take 800 MHz RAM. check this link.

It does not say however that the memory performs @ 800 MHz.

    Thanks for the link.

Well I may just go ahead and get those 800Mhz modules and see if it will run on that speed or not .
My old Laptop Gateway7510GX came with 2x512 DDR2700 and everyone said that won't use the DDR3200 but when i upgraded to 2x1gig DDR i choose the 3200(400Mhz) and it use it in Dual Chanel made a big performance boost under Vista.
