    Hey folks,

I was thinking about adding an additional 1 GB of RAM to my M105-S322 and installing a 1 GB OCZ PC-5400 SO DIMM 200 PIN RAM (really good deal at Microcenter today, $10 after rebate). Any ideas as to where the additional memory slot is in the computer and how to install the additional stick?

    I don't know if it was configured with 512 MB X 2 DIMM or 1 GB X 1 DIMM...

    Thanks in advance :)

Hey folks apparently there are two slots on my Satellite M105. One the bottom of the computer and the other underneath the keyboard. Now I have a 1 GB stick and am wondering which slot should I put the new module in...Though I cannot remember exactly, I recall reading in some other threads that to get improved performance one would be better off switching the RAM module underneath the keyboard as that is SLOT A (since this is the supposed primary module) and keep the other 512 MB stick in SLOT B.

Is there any truth to this statement?

    Thanks in advance

P.S. I've had difficulty locating a manual for the Satellite M105 on Toshiba's website where it would detail how to remove the DIMM underneath the keyboard. Has anyone had any luck in finding a resource which details how to do the procedure?

Both of the RAM slots are run at the same speed and the RAM will be clocked to the slowest of the two RAM sticks in said slots...regardless if the slowest RAM stick is in the under-keyboard slot or the under-laptop slot.

Naturally, installing a faster-than-spec stick of RAM that still physically fits either RAM slot won't do a squat when the motherboard is designed for a specific speed spec. IOW the motherboard won't run any faster that it was designed to.

That said, accessing the under-laptop slot is easier than the under-keyboard slot so one should try that upgrade avenue just for grins.
