I want to use my toshiba recovery CD to insatll XP in one partition C of my HD, rather than installing it on HD as a single partition C. I have prtitioned my HD into 4( C, D, E and F) by GParted liev CD and my OS is now in C drive, no loss of data. Just I want to reinstall OS in C partition via recovery CD. There is an option for advanced users in recovery CD and it states taht u can isnatll OS into a single partition but I am not able to fighure out how. Is there any help or tutorial available any where.
    Thanks.

Before you do this, I am assuming what u want to do is have a single C partition for the whole hd.

Assuming you have moved all important files to elsewhere, boot from cd. them choose to install windows xp. fresh copy of course. run delete all the partitions until u have one unpartition left. then format using ntfs (non-quick). and you should be good.

the recover CD gives you the option to make partitions

GParted is to partition after you have installed windows

so you kinda wasted your time
