For a start I would like to say hello :) to all of you!
I've just bought a Satellite A200 and because of my work I have to use XP instead of Vista. I've found all drivers besides the raid ones! I've made a bootable floppy disk using the raid drivers found in my recovery partition but with no luck. I've attached my hardware report using everest ultimate, in case you need some additional info.
    I would appreaciate if you'd help me, i'm at a dead-end!
    Thanx in advance :)

Do you mean the SATA drivers that you need for the XP install? I can't find those either. I've tried downloading them from the Toshiba site but the disk image is an exe file that does nothing when I click on it (is it borked? how the heck is one supposed to use it?), and the SATA drivers themselves are a 20 meg setup file that won't just give me the files so I can point XP at them when I install. I'm completely lost here. How is one supposed to install XP on this lappy without the SATA driver on a floppy image? XP keeps saying I have no hard drive installed.... lame.

    Help please.

You need to slipstream the driver onto your XP disk. There are several threads about this on this site if you search.

Tha's 100% correct, the easiest way I found from someone on this forum was to download and use Nlite ver. 1.3.5, it has a simple wizard that walks you through every step of doing the slip streamed CD or DVD process. Here is the link to download nlite: http://www.nliteos.com/index.html

    :p

Ok, tried the Nlite thing and it didn't work. For some reason it would install on a vmware virtual drive but when I burned the disk and tried to install it on my hard drive I got another message saying that the hard drive was not detected.
The worst (and most ridiculous) part is trying to figure out where the driver is in the package that you get from Toshiba. Can someone please point me at the sata driver so I can at least get xp to recognize the hard drive? I can't believe how needlessly difficult and time wasting this is.

Finally got it to install using Nlite. here's the steps I took for anyone else with a Toshiba A200-TH7 (bought in Canada). To get the sata driver out of "Intel Matrix Storage Manager-Floppy image.exe" I used Winimage which did the trick fine and put the driver into a folder. Nlite detected somewhere around 10 different drivers when I pointed it to this folder, which was rather confusing, but after burning the cd with the sata driver integrated into XP SP2, XP detected the damn HD and installed.

Ya, can someone post the SATA drivers somewhere, I extracted the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and gives me this .EXE, and if you extract it even more, it gives me a .IMA file, I dunno what the heck I have to do with this.
I found some other SATA drivers with like 5 files and I put it on the floppy, and it kind of works, I loads on onto the computer but it isn't the right drivers.
I have a USB floppy and I just need the driver.

    Thanks in advance,
    Allan

Have you tried using winimage on the floppy image you can download from Toshiba.ca? That's how I got the drivers for my install.

I have just installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on a Toshiba A200.
I went to the Toshiba (Australia) site and D/L ALL the drivers etc (29 of the buggers!!) lol.
I want to make sure that if you are having problems, read the following - Out of the 4 SATA/RAID drivers that were offered up in the F6 function on install, that for my A200 I had to blind try all before I finally got XP to actually start after the install re-boot. (had a blue screen error)
Everything is hunky dory now. . . . MUST BE THE RIGHT DRIVER!

I managed to get the drivers our of the EXEs by using a program called izarc. Google it. Once its installed get your exe, right click it and press select extract to ./EXE NAME All the drivers will be extracted there, including the INFs.

I successfully found and selected the driver that was compatible with my Satillite A200. After I selected and formated my partition drive it started doing its thing, a little bit later it asked me to insert the "intel matrix storage manager driver" into drive A. Drive A is where my external floppy is, any solutions? I think im doing something wrong. I didn't know there was a intel matrix storage driver or w/e. I just thought I needed the driver for the SATA drive.

salutes to all those who posted on this thread. i was trying hard to install XP on my friend's toshiba a 200 from the past 2 days. i tried even low level format and almost reached to the conclusion that the hard disk is having some problem with boot sector. thanks for the information. i wonder why toshiba does not mention this issue on their web site?

Finally i installed xp in the Toshiba Satellite A 200. Even though i got the idea how to integrate the sata driver in to xp installation cd using nlite. it was too late in the night and i was run out of cd to burn the nlite iso. but i solved the problem in a weird way. i tried to boot the system with an old windows ME installer cd. Surprisingly the ME installation detected the hard drive and started to install on the SATA hard disk. After that I just upgraded it with XP. But the CD drive was not detected after instaliing ME so I copied XP installation files in to a USB flash disk and installed xp from the flash disk.
