I have a Toshiba Satellite 1000Z2 laptop with windows xpsp1 - can I install windows xpsp2 over this with the disc? A silly question maybe, but I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. Thanks.

Er, why don't you just upgrade to SP2 through windows update? But sure you could do that too if you wanted a clean install and the disc just happened to have SP2.

you can download and install SP2 or SP3 over SP1. I prefer to download and install them manually, as it is risky going online with SP1. Better (when doing a clean install) to install SP3 and Antivirus before ever connecting to the web.

Thanks - As I have the disc, I shall install sp2 from the disc without being online - hopefully that should do it.
