I have been asked several times to make some guides for InsydeH20 BIOS modifications/tweaks and other stuff . So today i started this topic and will show you everything i know about this annoying InsydeH20 BIOS .
I think it will take me some weeks to make for every modification a video/tutorial on Youtube.
However lets go....

How to dump (backup your currently used BIOS) your InsydeH20 BIOS:

YOUTUBE

1. DOWNLOAD this Utility ( Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit)
2. Run it as an admin
3. Press READ
4. Wait until it has finished
5. Press BACKUP
6. Save your BIOS
7. Rename your BIOS.rom to BIOS.fd (not necesarry!)


How to flash a modified BIOS:

YOUTUBE

1. DOWNLOAD my modified flasher
2. Extract the flasher
3. Paste your modified BIOS.fd file into this folder
4. Rename it to BIOS.FD ( i forced this name in the .cfg file)
5. Close ALL programms
6. Launch the InsydeFlash.exe

INFORMATION IMPORTANT !!!!

• The flasher will flash always! It wont check the BIOS Version!
• Platform check is ON ---> You cant flash a incompatible BIOS
• Should work on every platform XP/Vista/7
• When youre flashing a EzH20 modified BIOS you´ll get a EC update error. Just ignore it and click OK! Flashed BIOS will still work.

Can this modding be used for Portege laptops to enable SATA III ports? /just wondering, never heard of this BIOS before

 

I think yes; but i didnt search for it at the moment bacuase i have hm55 and only SATA II ports....
You will see if you can when this guide is finished.

Your BIOS uses other vss offsets wich cant be located by EzH20.... You will have to locate them with a hexeditor and mod try THIS

Are all of the brands, Msi toshiba hp etc. use this type of bios?

 

It depends on the model.

 

I have done what you said in this thread first i have backup-ed my bios then changed the bios logo and i used your modified flasher, Pasted my modified BIOS.fd file into this folder but when i run the flasher it shows an error "there isn't any rom file in this directory" Please Help Me.

How exactly can I verify whether or not I have an Insyde bios? I believe I have one on my Pavilion g4-1215dx. I am looking to add CPU support for an A8-3510dx, would this be possible to do at all?

How do I use the flasher tool to restore a BIOS to a flashed acer iconia w500 running the insydeH20 bios version 1.05?

I have a sony VPC-Z13V9E, with bios problems.

on boot always gives error; “ME FW UPDATE FAILURE,PLEASE TRY AGAIN”

On Bios, Serial number,service tag and product name(VPCZ129FX) is all diferent
from computer original sticker.

On Bios ME VERSION is unknown.

I tried updating the Bios but already have last update R3031c3.

Computer boots fine( with error message) all drivers installed, the fan is always
working and after 40/45minutes the laptop turns off.
How can i restore this ME version? is it possible?

I have a Sony SVS1511AGXB with InsydeH2O R0142c5 Rev 3.7 and I'm trying to enable 2nd SATA Disk Drive in order to RAID two SSDs. The BIOS clearly shows the option of a second SATA drive but lists NONE. Thoughts?

I have trouble with the InsydeH2O BIOS on my packard bell Easynote ME69BMP (ENME69BMP). It does not boot anything from USB at all. All I can do is enable or disable secure boot, but it does not load any Ubuntu (e.g. 12.04 LTS or 13.04). Instead there is strange error messages "device does not have an USB boot option...". It comes with Win8 (now Win8.1) .

Since I cannot boot Linux I cannot extract the BIOS, __but__ here is a flash version available:

Can anyone free this BIOS? I suspect a "legacy" boot option would help me out.

Or give me a hint on how to get the machine to load ANYTHING from USB? (I'm aware of the legacy / secruy/ UEFI situation!)

I have a Toshiba Satellite L655-s5157 with the insyde H2O bios. I sent the laptop to toshiba for service, about a month after i received it back (Monitor replacement) my BIOS and Hard Drive both indicate they have a password set, of which I know neither my wife or I set. I have tried multiple BIOS password crackers, searched for the infamous XXX jumper under the memory all to no avail. Can your BIOS MOD help me to reset my password? If so what else do you need me to send you.

Hi there, I'm kinda super newb in this kind of things, I have a Toshiba Satellite L645-SP4163m, it has a Insyde H2O bios, the version is 2.70, and the rev. is 3.5.
So I was kinda wondering if there's a method to overclock this thing arround, I can't touch the advanced options in this Bios, and I can't update to the newest video card drivers cause they're kinda locked up.
If someone can give me a track, I'll be so glad.

Hey guys, im newbie in this BIOS things ,but yesterday after a full day of work i managed to update my insyde h20 bios from my Sony Vaio VPCZ12m9e Europe model, and i activated that advanced_menu.py . But there is another problem for me now. My laptop flew out of my car and got in pieces, i reassambled it and the problem is i dont have that stamina button anymore. So im stuck with the Intel hd graphics card . Im trying to put an eGPU in my laptop to work out with an Nvidia gt 580 and i need to have some settings in bios that i can manage the primary display options. Can anyone help me? because in this bios you provide there is no such as thing.

at the risk of stating the obvious - did u not read that the op was banned.

its a grey area given most of the requests are from laptops that are already way past any warranty period but the key point is that the use of proprietary software to mod the bios is not allowed.

if you downloaded unofficial homebrew programs which i suspect 99% of you won't risk it - in my eyes that's fine by me.

The fact that jailbreak or rooted appl or samsungphones does not even void the warranty in recent court verdicts supports this

but again note that it's by using "cracks"
biosmodswould be a good place to "procure"such services (pls don't be cheap)

I read about the prema dude ever since i owned a clevo and if eberyone had even paid him $5 per download - things would be different. my only regret was not finding this forum 2 years earlier.

if you're keen to learn -there's another forum hosted by this ripping guy who's clearly very active which some might know as Nando? and of course there's MDL

in short - most of u wouldn't have a good reason to unlock the bios / apart from whitelists?

and if Intel manages to gain support - the world of hacking bios ould be etinctin 2 years - where UEFI will be the standard - i mean pure UEFI not just shells that we purport to use currently
