I have just bought my second toshiba laptop. I sold the first one because my electric cable detector (the kind you hold up to a wall to see where the cables are) shows an electric field between the screen and keyboard. My new machine, a satellite pro, does the same. My Dell laptop doesnt do this.

I am concerned that there may be health effects from the toshiba. Can anyone help?

there is no conclusive proof about harm of the weak (non-ionising, non-heating) EMI fields

It begins when one begins wearing tin foil hats :D

Seriously though, low level non-ionizing emissions have not been shown scientifically to cause negative health effects.

Now, sitting under high voltage power lines, much more potential for health issues as these are high level emissions, but still non ionizing, so who knows for sure on this one.
