Hey I just got my q870 qosmio, and I noticed that when i checked my video card settings that my gts 360m was using directx11. I haven't upgraded my video card or anything like that, but I was wondering if the card is acutally taking advantage of x11 or not. I downloaded the demo of dirt2, and I thought the game looked really good; however I have nothing to go on if it actually enhanced the game or not. It would be nice to use the enhanced features on future games :)

The GTS 360M does not support use of DX11, so therefore it is not taking advantage of it. The only card out currently that uses DX11 is the Mobility Radeon HD 5870.

For a great example of what DX11 can do is go to youtube and search for "Unigine heaven" and look for a demo of directx 11. It features tessalation, enhanced bump-mapping, better physics, etc.. But yea, pretty much what CZX58 said. If I'm not mistaken, all of the ATi HD 5xxx series support DX11. And there's actually a cheaper model that just came out not too long ago, it's an ASUS with an HD 5730 around 1000. But... some of the new ATi cards, especially on the low end, support DX11 but I doubt their ability to push out DX11 at respectable framerates.
