I'm really enjoying using my new Satellite U305-S107, but I just have a quick question. It runs on the Intel 945GM Express mobile chipset, so it's on the Napa platform, and has an Intel GMA 950 IGP. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, and I just want to know if I'm getting the "full experience" with this GPU. Is there anything Vista is capable of that my GPU is not, or can it run (and run well) everything the Vista GUI offers?
Thanks.

yes.......

Alright! Thanks!

GMA 950 or better is needed for Aero Glass.

Isn't the Intel 965GM Express Chipset Santa Rosa? Which has the X3100?
The Intel 945 GM Express Chipset is the Napa platform which has the GMA 950.
Anyways, Vista should run perfectly on the GMA950 -
I think he meant to say 945GM, since I believe that toshiba hasn't released a u300 series with santa rosa yet.
-
nope..no santa rosa yet..not that i have seen anyways. and i don't think they would put an IGP on a computer with vista if it wasn't capable..but good question though. laters

Sorry about that. I meant 945 GM, as allan_huang said. And Toshiba does have a Santa Rosa laptop out in the form of the Satellite U305-S127.
Anyway, I have another question, though it's just a curiosity of mine -- Is the Intel GMA 950 the least powerful GPU or IGP that can run Windows Vista Aero and the "advanced" graphical features it includes? -
I do believe it is the weakest IGP to run Vista since the ATI IGP and Nvidia 6150 seem to be fairly more powerful than the GMA950.
Is the Intel GMA 950 in my U305-S107 capable of running all of Vista's features?
