Hello everyone, first post on this site.

I'll receive my A105-S101 from BB this Thursday. Does this laptop have the capability to run in dual channel mode for the RAM?

    I also purchased 2, 1G sticks of G.SKILL 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Notebook Memory Model F2-4200PHU1-1GBSA - Retail from Newegg.

If this notebook has the dual channel capability I think I should be able to run it with the RAM I purchased.

Yes your laptop has the capability to run dual channel and will with the RAM you ordered. You should get a very nice performance boost by upgrading to 2GB, it should make a nice all-around machine. Are you planning on gaming with it? It will play most of today's games at low settings, but if you are a gamer you need a full fledged dedicated card. If you are video editing or rendering though, that will be a nice machine for that. Let us know how you like it.

Yes - you'll certainly benefit from a memory upgrade, although the dual-channel won't help too much performance wise. If you're a gamer, then I second what jenson has said - look for a notebook with a dedicated GPU.

The answer may disappoint you. I have the same model, bought from BB. I used the CPUz applet to check if the memory features dual channels, but there's no such an indication. In addition, I read it online somewhere saying that this type of Radeon ATI chipset doesn't support Dual-Channel functionality.
