Is this Toshiba good for my purposes?

    Hey all!
(Didnt know if I should post this here or in "Buying laptop"-section)

My mom is going to get a laptop to move around the apartment (no more, therefor almost no battery time requirement)

The laptop that we're looking at is the:
    Toshiba Satellite C670D-10C
Which is (at the moment) on lowered price-sale.

So, it has the Atom E-240 CPU and Radeon HD 6310 graphics.

    Some questions then:
    1. The CPU is single core, right? If so, that cannot be future-proof? :p
    2. The laptop will be used mostly for surfing, eventually chatting. BUT, it should be able to keep track of images scanned in higher resolution and be able to work with them (like cropping, resizing) without taking too long. Will this one do?
    3. At a price of 3333SEK (random? ) (524 USD or 363 EUR), is it price-worthy?

Well, thanks for reading and for any answers :)
