I've always had HP laptops(3 in the past 5 years) and i've always had heat issues. They're wonderful at first, but when it was less then a yr old it would overheat and turn off, now it won't stay on unless I have it on a cooling fan.
I did my homework there's not much out there on Toshibas , which I think is a good thing, but from what I have found, specifically this chart, Toshibas are more reliable.

This was a tough decision for me too, I really liked the idea of the quad core, but i'm thinking that could only lead to more heating issues.
I really wanted an HDX because of the hi res screen, but they discontinued them, good thing i didn't get one cuz they must have been really bad(as far as heat).
I'm really excited to see how much power the one I just ordered has, good processor (duo 2.8ghz), good video card (1gb), and plenty of ram(6gb), along with the 7200rpm harddrive this thing should fly! -
damn now uve really got me thinking.. i could get a care pan for 2 yrs i guess.
but that chart really means business thnx -

Anyone else order one? or any customized notebook?
Curious how long it usually takes to receive, according to their site they're processing my order, been a week now.
Just order an A500
