So far I'm loving the look of the laptop, I've scanned over it for any problems and so far I've noticed two which has kinda bummed me out.

First I have a stuck or dead pixel in the top left of my screen, it's a gray/white dot, I've tried rubbing it gently but it didn't go away! Very bothersome...

Secondly the webcam picture is all dark and gray like I'm a shadow even though I'm in a well lit room...

    Any tips?

    Yeah I mean't the A505-S6965... Sorry.

I've tried everything to fix the stuck pixel but it will not. The sticker was covering the webcam haha... BUT! The right shift key is also slightly broken as it sticks when clicking it...

So far I'm not impressed as I wish I would've been.

No Best Buy in 30 miles has this laptop so replacing it with the same model is a negative.

if your unit has production flaws long term you're better off returning it.
yours might have been knocked around or something. good build quality on mine. it just played thru crysis last week

Hey, I just fired up our new A505-S6965 also. Everything looks good so far. I'm just finishing up burning the Recovery discs. The build looks very good, and there are no dead pixels that I can see, but I will run a screen test to better check for any. Really like the back-lighted keyboard and how it activates when you start pressing keys. I had forgotten that this comes with a Lableflash DVD unit, instead of the more common Lightscribe. Oh well, guess I'll end up using a Sharpie for a long time since I have LOTS of Lightscribe DVDs.

I do have kind of a silly question that maybe someone can help me with. How do you get the protective cover out of the ExpressCard slot? Maybe my fingers are just too fat, but I can't seem to get enough of a grip to pull it out. Is there a trick to it? Any tips on getting it out of there?

Thanks, KING19. It worked. I just had to push quite a bit harder than I did before. Alls good now.

Then just return it as defective and buy the A505-6969 from newegg once it's back in stock. Sure it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles but the graphics card is a lot better.
