    Toshiba X505-S870.

How do I have it keep the backlight on for the keyboard when it's plugged in?
The Toshiba hwsetup has an adjustment but it doesn't go past 60 seconds...
I'd like it to stay on....

    How?

On my Q850, there is a BIOS setting that allows me to select "Always On" instead of "timed" setting. The Always On setting uses CTRL-Z to Turn On/Off the Keyboard Backlight. Check if your X505 has that.

However, even if I set it to "Always On", the OS still turns it off after booting. I need another Toshiba software "ECO" to turn it ON during booting - OR i could simply elect to press CTRL-Z (which I find very annoying to find in a Dark Room)

Perfect... Once I set it in the BIOS and fiddled in the HWSetup, it stays on now. MUCH easier to see, even when it's not completely dark in the room.
