    Hello,
I have a 2 yr. old Toshiba Satellite 1955 S803 that has been operating flawlessly. I brought it home from college for the holidays and when I turned it on at home the keyboard is completely dead. This is the model that has the removlable wireless keyboard, but it work doesn't work at all now (either in or out of the computer). I've searched the Toshiba Support site but haven't gotten anywhrere yet. None of the keyboard lights (caps lock) work, and it doesn't work from a DOS prompt either. It almost seems like somwhow it's been disabled. Otherwise it must be completely fried.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanksl

Does this wireless keyboard use batteries? I am guessing it must. The battery may have died or fried, and thus explains why nothing works on it.

This model laptop has a detachable keyboard that can be removed from the computer and used as wireless.
Yes, the keyboard does have a battery, but i was thinking that even if the battery were dead, the keyboord should work when it's attached directly to the computer, no?
Anyways if I could find a replacement battery it would probably be worth a try.
    thanks,.
