That didn't help I am looking for Duo 2 core not Pen dual. That is a old link and won't help.

Storm, not having your laptop, I was just returning your previous favor, sorry.

Due to the lack of posts , I would venture not many have upgraded the L305.

If you can determine which socket, then you should have a range of CPUs that MAY be supported. Again, look at what was offered when you bought the laptop?

I kinda figured that there was limited users that went that route but later this week I am going to order another cpu for my gateway and use that t7500 or t5750 and try those two cpu in the toshiba and see if they work. Otherwise there is a cheap t6400 that I might purchase just to test to see if that work in the Toshiba. I was hoping against hope I could take the Toshiba to at least a 2.0G duo 2 core as the computer seem very good for a laptop to keep around. Forgot to mention maybe the biggest reason why not many upgrade the CPU is the amount of work it takes to just even tear down the laptop just to get to the CPU. It makes one one to toss it out the windows. My Gateway, Dell, Acer are way easier to access the CPU then the Toshiba which is a pain the in a55. But if I can get a duo 2 core 2.0G to work I will be happy with it as it has good intel video and webcam and run very good and feels sturdy and would keep for some time.

Yea, know what you mean. I'm hoping to find a manual on x775 as I hate taking a chance on a missed screw under warranty.

Out of warranty, I took pictures and made notes. After t9300 swap another user beat me to posting tear down on FX.

    Go for it!

Well I like to report back that I ordered a T7500 CPU and yes it does work so I am assuming my other T7300 CPU would work as well so it seems like the T7000 series and T5000 and including the T8000 should work as my other laptop a Dell and Gateway uses the same CPU socket. I might return the T7300 but since it wasn't to expensive to get I will keep it around for backup CPU. I can't say if the T9000 series 667-800fsb chips should work but it takes to much time to remove the Toshiba just to replace the CPU so the T7500 will remain as is inside the Toshiba for the time being. As to why a T6000 series the T6500 specifically didn't work I don't know maybe some internal design differences exist that I don't know exactly what it is. I only used the 667-800 fsb CPU not the 1066 fsb cpu.
