    Safemode is fine.
Normal mode blank screen in 10-15mins into it.
Tried restoring to Factory power+0, also blank screen when comes up to installing files.

I don't have time to work on it yet. I'm thinking it's either GPU or HDD. HDD is quiet, no clicking. GPU fan a little dusty and hot. If it's GPU, wouldn't it just shut down til it's cool? Anyway, just wonder what people think.

For me, I will disassemble it and clean out the fan and check gpu thermal here in a couple days when time permit. Then will try check the HDD with Hiren CD

Hi sounds like you have the same problem as me,check out my thread here :

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/toshiba/668125-black-screen-unresponsive-while-still-running.html#

and try some of the solutions i`ve tried and see if it works for you,i suggest u start out with the ram as that seems to be the culprit in my case.

What exactly do you mean restore to factory power+0?can u give details i want to try that on my rig.

PS: Might want to make your thread a bit more descriptive about the problem otherwise people might not check it.

To do reset to factory setting without backup DVD, you press and hold "0" and press the power button until you hear loud beeps.

I've seen DIMM slot goes bad, but this is not the case. If slot is bad, usually it won't show video at all. In my case it boot up and actually work untill you to some point it will disappear. I still think it's the GPU or could be CPU.
